Happy Customs Services Complaint - Custom House Brokers

MIAMI, FLORIDA -- I sent a shipment of a car and some personal effects on 4/22 from the
Dominican Republic. The shipment arrived here 4/25 and to this date I have not received my container. I hired this company to do all paper work, and agreed in a given amount. At no moment did they told me the shipment will not be released until they have received payment for the service rendered. Yesterday May 3, late in the afternoon did they tell me the amount involved. I sent a check for the amount of $611.29 by mail and they told me I had to send a money order overnight delivery which I did again. (doble payment).

Their lack of proper communication led me to incur in demurrage charges to the shipping company, additional payment to the car I had rented, plus the agony involved as they continued telling me the reason for the delay was for another source, instead of telling me as soon as I hired them, that proper payment was necessary before shipment release.

Have you ever dealt with them before? I don't know of any customs broker who would release a shipment (especially one that involves a car)without getting payment up front from a new customer.
