Bank of America Complaint - They Are One #@$% Up Company!
I lost my job November 2008 and have been on unemployment ever since. I paid my bill EVERY month on time. I called them today to let them know I was having a problem paying my bill due to the fact that my unemployment benefits have stopped. I was going to pay them out of my savings, hopefully at a reduced monthly payment. Do you know what they told me????
"We can only enroll you in a hardship program IF YOU HAVE A JOB". In order to plead a hardship case with them, you need to show proof that you are gainfully employed and earning a living. I told them that if I was employed, I wouldn't be calling them for help. I asked them "wouldn't you rather have a smaller payment from me than none at all?" They said if I don't pay them at all, they will get the money eventually plus more by tacking on late fees, etc.
The person at BOA told me to go to debt consolidation. I told them I had already and the recommendation of debt consolidation was to file bankruptcy, which I really truly do not want to do. I told BOA that if I file for bankruptcy, they won't get anything at all, no late fees, nothing. Their attitude was "oh well, we can't help you".
I just don't understand people. They are the worst. I wish I would have NEVER gotten a credit card with them.
