Maybaline New York Complaint - Complaint - Mascara

Review by amii on 2010-05-08
I am making a complain about your adverts on the television, I know you say at the bottom of the screen that you use lash inserts but most people would like to see how your mascara looks on natural lashes. I am sorry for the complaint but I would like to see natural lashes. Thank you

This also bugs me. I have never understood why cosmetic companies try to sell their mascara in this manner.

I agree with you. Using lash inserts upsets me because I cannot see what the product will do for natural lashes. Sure it looks great on false ones, but if I'm spending 7-10 bucks on mascara I want to know what it looks like! That is why I stick to companies like Lancome or Clinique for cosmetics. They give you free samples that you can take home and then once you decided which you prefer you can go back and purchase it!

I agree with raven and princi. It borders on false advertising to show how mascara makes your eyes look, when it's really false eyelashes. It is as bad to me for as an ad for a camera that has the chutzpah to show simulated photograps. If I am going to pay for a camera based on a commercial, I want to see what the real pictures look like. Oh, and amii. it is Maybelline.

Great review OP. It's not just Maybelline that does this. Everytime I see a mascara commerical by any cosmetic manufacturer, you can always tell they have added the false eyelashes to the model. If mascara could actually do what it says it could, then why not just advertise the mascara, by itself, without the false eyelashes.
