Spirit Airlines Complaint - Bad Spirit
I booked two tickets on Spirit for a flight to Detroit using Orbitz. Somehow I got my husband's name wrong, which I only noticed the other night when I was about to print up the boarding passes. I called Orbitz and they called Spirit. After about a half an hour wait, I was told that Spirit would allow no changes to be made on the ticket and if I want to rebook it, I still couldn't correct the name. So essentially they said it would be treated as a lost ticket and we would just have to accept the $200 loss. I could see if we had used part of the ticket or if they had wanted to implement a small fee, but to lose the entire cost of the ticket is unacceptable. I've had other problems with Spirit's so called customer service in the past, but this was the most costly and the last straw. With the $25 checked baggage fee which Spirit will be implementing this summer and the $110 cancellation fee, I don't know if it's even worth rebooking my own flight. I can imagine how happy the company was to be able to screw us, but that is nothing compared to the joy I'll feel with this company finally goes out of business.
