Orbitz Complaint - Won't use Orbitz again
I booked two tickets on a Spirit airlines flight through Orbitz and didn't discover that my husband's name was wrong until I went to print out the boarding pass. I called Orbitz, who contacted Spirit. Ultimately, Spirit refused to change the name on the ticket and said that we were just have to accept the $200 loss. Yes, I should have looked at the name more carefully before I paid for the ticket, but I didn't imagine there would be a mistake. I think it could have been a problem with Orbitz's computer because I recently was looking up car rentals in Michigan through Orbitz and the place they listed was in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
But with our Spirit fiasco Orbitz never accepted that they could be at fault or that they had any responsibility whatsoever. Orbitz offered us nothing, not even a coupon for $15 to redeem at a future booking. I have found in the past that I can often get better prices than what Orbitz offered, but this time the price seemed competitive. Whether Orbitz offers competitive prices in the future, I won't know as I don't plan to use them again.
