Ramour & Flannigan Complaint - Same old Ramour & SCAM-again
I've been involved with consumer/victim advocacy issues since my retirement from a NJ police department. When I address civic groups similarly involved, I stipulate that the hallmark of a "dishonest" company is one who uses the word "SALE" with inordinate frequency. The AG's Office deems the definition of "sale" as a price that is appreciably or noticeably less than the every day price. Well if Ramour & Flannigan were to abide by this notion, they not only should be "giving" their items away, but should be paying us to take it! For over a decade, you'd be hard-pressed to view the daily, (seemingly hour by hour) TV commercials which don't contain some sort of nebulous reference to a "SALE"; they seemingly have no beginning and certainly, NO ending! Their declaration of a "SALE" and "Hurry, SALE ends at...." is like the proverbial missed bus; "don't worry, another will be along in 10 minutes". Actually, you won't have to wait that long with their purport of SALE; seamlessly, it starts again as soon as it ends. In other words, their sale and suggestion of urgency to get there, is merely a ruse; it is wildly deceptive and I defy ANYONE not to notice these tedious, deceptive ads on a daily basis. I wonder why the AG's Office permits them to perpetrate such a daily ruse, why -way-smaller companies are frequently cited and fined for similar infractions. Seems that the fix is in?? If running tedious, deceptive advertising was a capital offense, Raymour & Flannigan should get the "Chair"! Check out the complaints on line; there is a strong consensus re: their corporate integrity, (or lack-there-of)... Head's Up!
