La Chateleine Informative - Service at Breakfast Time

Review by JulesVerne007 on 2010-05-08
WORTHINGTON, OHIO -- It was interesting to be exposed to some odd behavior; I'm sure it was related to the color of my skin, but thought I would share this observation. When I went to order breakfast at La Chateleine in Worthington, the server served previous customers ahead of me (white), but when she reached me, she told me to wait, while she arranged the coffee cups, and restocked the shelves with other items, and then came to take my order. Now this may sound trivial, but thought I would share this experience. It seemed to me that if I am a business and have customers waiting in line to be served, it would be more important to service the customer, and then restock items on the shelf. I must say that the service staff at the Upper Arlington seem to be more customer focused.
I recently moved to Worthingon, and absolutely love the area.

I don't know if you're right or wrong, but I do know that sometimes certain items do have to be restocked before waiting on another customer, especially if the employee is working alone. I don't know if that was the case, but it's something to consider.

If there was a line of customers, and she is both seating and setting, she needs to take a pause every few customers to reset tables. I don't think it's a case of race.
