I placed my flower order for Mother's Day 2010 a month before Mother's day. I ordered the large arrangement for $59.99 and what was delivered to my mother was nothing like the picture shown on the website. in fact the actual arrangement was small and appeared to be the one pictured for the cheapest price...I paid for the biggest arrangement and was mailed the smallest one. There were only three roses in the arrangement I received and there are three roses in the picture of the small arrangement on the website...I sent them an email about my unsatisfied experience and hope to receive a refund, though of course I won't be holding my breath. But lesson learned, I will never use 1-800-flowers again. I could of gotten the exact same arrangement from Jewel for $9.99 and saved myself $50. I feel cheated and robbed and am upset because I would never have ordered such a small arrangement for my mother.

As a mom, I can tell you that she will appreciate whatever you give her. But I do understand what you're saying. These flowers companies are risky business. The complaints will probably be pouring in next week. Stick with a local florist. You have more control that way.

800 Flowers is very good making sure their customers are satisified. I have had a few issues in the past for the same thing. The arrangements doesn't actually come from their website, but local floriest in your area that works with them. They WANT to know when you're not satisfied, because I'm sure if they get too many complaints about the same florist, they will stop using them. Anytime I had an issue, they either sent a replacement arrangement that was better than what I had ordered, or they would send a credit for your next order. But, mostly they were replaced. I had this happen maybe three or four times, but that's not really alot, considering how many times I've used them. Also, if you let the local florist know of this, they may even make up some kind of arrangement for you as well.

I would recommend, using a local florist in the area where the person you are sending flowers lives. Most of them now have websites, with photo's and the flowers and gift baskets I have sent, using the local florist always lives up to the photograph on the websites. The flowers in the photo you posted, are very sparse, compared to the actual photo. You should get what you pay for.
