Geek Squad Complaint - Worthless
EMERYVILLE, CALIFORNIA -- Its sad that Best Buy has such a poor tech support roup for their products, I will surely never be buying a computer from them again.
My computer, 3 months old and under store extended warranty, was having problems, the screen would go colorful and scramble, and you couldn't see anything.
I took it in, and they refused to do work on it because I had installed Windows 7 (I am a developer, and received it from Microsoft's Developers Network a month before it was released) a week before it was officially released. I contunued to patiently tell them that that had nothing to do with the problem, that their warranty doesn't even cover Windows problems so it shouldn't be an issue, but they still refused to do any service without giving a valid reason.
Then they accused me of pirating Windows 7, when I had already explained to them where I legally obtained it from. Apparently the huge tech support group Geek Squad didn't know there was a Microsoft developers network.
That was enough, they refused to fix my problem and wrongfully accused me of piracy. Geek Squad is the horrible, incompetent, and have no idea how to repair computer issues. They are the worst.
