UPS-United Parcel Service Complaint - Always Use Fed Ex! - Merchandise Delivery

Review by Jay Day on 2010-05-10
I ordered some Air Jordans through a retail company that uses UPS as their delivery choice. After tracking my shipment online, it stated it was delivered to my home but signed by someone who doesn't live there. Not much to my surprise, when I got home, my package was not there. I called UPS to verify who exactly signed for my package & the Representative tells me that it was delivered to my residence. Which it was not. They released my package to someone across the street but didn't notify me. So please beware that if you are not home, their drivers will release your purchases to anyone willing to sign for it so that they won't have to make a second trip to your neighborhood.

Fed Ex take the packages back to their central warehouse if I am not there to sign for them; if I miss the second delivery, I have to drive well over an hour to pick them up. UPS just leaves them by the door. If I need a package signed for, I usually have it shipped to my mom's house. It really just boils down to managing your orders and understanding what each carrier does and does not do.

This contradicts everyone that posts complaints saying not to use FedEx and always go with UPS. If it was delivered across the street, did you ever get it?

I prefer Federal Express over any other shippers. My least favorite, is USPS.

Yes Ups will leave you package with your neighbors. If you don't get your pakage they will pay the insured value. ONe you have a claim a signature wil always be required at your address. UPS still trust that people are good neighbors. Have it shipped to your work. Shipping to a business is $2.00 cheaper than shipping to a residence.
