Discover Card Complaint - Good customer, Bad customer service
I've been an excellent customer for quite some time. Credit Score 784, great pay history until the company doubled my minimum payment without notice. Yes, they say they sent notice, but I did not receive one. I received a late fee, but was told by two very rude customer service representatives that if I paid the total amount due it would be waived. Beings that I have a fax from my credit union showing my payment was sent on April 30 (unlike Discover, I do have written proof of my mail sent). I agreed to make the remainder of the amount, but was refused. I repeatedly asked to speak to a supervisor, but was told that no one was available and the two representatives I spoke with said they would not transfer me to anyone else anyways and continues to speak to me in a very bitter manner.
You would think that any company who has good customers would like to keep those customers, but then again I guess they are in the business of making money and what better way than collecting late fees. The bad part of doing bad business is actually losing business....which they will.
Though I am disabled now, I worked for a major credit company for years and would say I am highly surprised at the rudeness of the associates. I would advise caution in opening an account with this company if you like good customer service.
