Alltel Complaint - Bad Business-Internet-Customer Service-
HICKORY, NORTH CAROLINA -- I signed a 2 year contract with Alltel. After right at a year their tower, approx. 1.5 miles from my home stopped working about half the time. My son had online college courses. He could not get on the internet or half way through a test or assignment he would be kicked off. After several calls to Alltel we were told they were having problems with the tower (1.5 miles away)and did not know when it would be fixed. After approx. 1 hr on the phone with customer service their solution was to send me a $60 booster kit. With NO guarantee that it would solve the problem. I explained I am paying tuition, I need out of my contract so we can get a provider that will work. I was told no..but we will send you the booster kit at no charge. What good was that going to do if they couldn't guarantee it would work? I told them to cancel my account. They did and are now billing me $140 early termination fee. Why should I have to pay if they couldn't provide me service? My signature on their contract is no better than their service..that's the way I see it. Now I'm getting collection calls on my Verizon (great service) cell phone and at work. How do I rectify this issue? Anyone know? Alltel sure isn't willing to help!!!! Please no one sign a contract with this company..I don't wish this hell on anyone!!!
