John Hackett Associates Complaint - John Hackett Associates
SOUTHPORT, CONNECTICUT -- When looking at a home in Fairfield, CT, our agent took us to a property listed by John Hackett of John Hackett Associates, a William Raveis agent.
We did not have a good experience dealing with John Hackett Associates due to numerous communication problems.
In an attempt to salvage this real estate deal, I bypassed the Raveis real estate agents and went directly to the seller to reach an agreement. I had thought a reasonable agreement could be reached, but ultimately it was not.
In the end, I was forced to eat a few thousand dollars of inspection, appraisal and mortgage fees because of poor, delayed and innacurate communications with John Hackett and his client.
The moral of the story is very simple. If you are buying a house, do not proceed to inspection until you have submitted a list of questions in writing to the sellers. Do not accept any verbal statement from a seller or a seller's agent: they can lie with impunity, draw you deep into the deal, and then tell you to take it or leave it.
