Locoauto Italy Complaint - Locoauto took money from my bank account
ROME -- I also had a very bad experience with this Car Rental Company. During the Volcanic Ash flight disruptions, my family had to hire a car from Rome to Cassell Airport from this Company. We paid 269 euro for 24 hour hire including super plus insurance. (we authorised 600 euro in total, balance was a deposit against damages). We returned the car the next morning at 7.35am. in the same condition as hired, and as other review stated the office was closed, but were told to post the keys through letterbox of office as this was normal. On checking my account on return, I noted that the 269 euro was paid from my account 2 days after the car was returned. 5 days later the same company took 529 euro from my account and the next day they took the same amount. I was astonished and assumed it was an error. When I eventually made contact with customer services they said the car was damaged and the second payment was taken in error. They have yet to refund my second amount of 529 euro or to give me any proof that we damaged the car. They did eventually e-mail me an estimate on their own headed paper for the amount and a picture of A windscreen with a chip, but no evidence that it was the car we rented, it could be any car. I am now taking the case through the European small claims court and will post a note on the outcome. This is an awful experience having had the turmoil of getting home from Istanbul to Ireland with a 6 year old child in tow, and then to have this happen.
