OCALA, FLORIDA -- NOTHING has changed at Staples. I walked into the Ocala store next to Best Buy, today, with my wife looking to buy an Acer Aspire One, priced at $299. There had to have been at least 15 associates scurrying about doing various activities. I stopped one young lady and asked her IF they had the above computer instock. She walked over to the front area where another young lady, presumably a management associate who was making some copies and ask her.. She not only totally ignored her, but me as well. The first young lady took her portable machine and scanned the barcode at the computer location to finally tell me the answer. I was so pissed off at the treatment, I left the store, drove across the street to office depot where they also had the computer at the exact same price. There was only ONE black very tall gentlemen on the floor sitting at an end counter computer. HE IMMEDIATELY ADDRESSED ME and ask how he could help. We bought the computer at $299 and were extremely pleased at their service and accomodating attitude. I don't see many TV ads for office depot, but there are several for Staples... which as you can tell from my experience, are totally wasted.

You're mad that the employees were running around the store doing their jobs? In retail, employees don't just stand around all day doing nothing. They do have tasks that they need to do

and it sounds like the first employee really tried to help you
it's a shame she is also being accused of bad service when she tried to help you, even if it wasn't her area.

Lilyaya...ISN'T the ONLY purpose of ANY employee in retailing there to accomodate, and not ignore the customer? YOU are obviously one of the ones who have NO idea WHERE your paycheck comes from..and its NOT the company. Its EVERY customer who walks through that front door..RETAIL 101.
