Holidayinn express (edinburgh waterfront) Complaint - Quality of accommodation

EDINBURGH -- I stayed at the holiday Inn Express, Edinburgh Waterfront on 30/04/10 until 1/5/10. After paying £95 plus £20 refundable the next day we were told that the electricity was down and could take 3/4 hours to come back on, we had no use of lighting heating or fob for our door, so rather than sit in darkness for hours we went out and spent more money that we didn't want to spend, We were planning a relaxing night away from home and due to the faults in the hotel our night was ruined. Holiday Inn has been highly recommended but after my experience it was totally a waist of travel time and expense. We had no price deducted from the total cost which was ridiculous, I would appreciate some reimbursement for this as the night we planned to relax ended up cold and dark and we spent money that we should could have kept for something better. I hope to here back from this matter asap.
