Ikea Complaint - Missing Parts, Unnecessary Parts, TERRIBLE Service!!!!!
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- Wow, don't know where to begin. I have the white stained oak 6 drawer Malm and it's been a nightmare couple of days trying to assemble it. I had it delivered, opened the box and found no nuts or bolts necessary for assembly. I went back to the store (no great feat in Brooklyn)and a very angry woman disappeared into a back room to count out the nuts and bolts I needed. She handed me a bag...my first mistake was that I didn't stay and count it out. Once I got home, the bag had a fraction of what I needed and handfuls of a bunch of bolts and screws I didn't. While picking through the rest of the box, I found 6 or 7 panels that were not necessary. I thought I was crazy. A box without any nuts and bolts and a bunch of elements completely unnecessary for the item. I have to go back to Ikea this week and totally dread it. At the end of the day, Ikea doesn't pay their employees enough and therefore, the consumer gets screwed. They could easily solve these problems and choose not to. I highly recommend spending a little bit more at Westelm or CB2 to get a better item and a lot less stress.
