Contra Costa Federal Credit Union Compliment - I think I might love you
Ok, so some frequent viewers to this site might know that Wells Fargo dumped me as a customer because of a stupid deposit mixup. I had been thinking for years about dumping them, but they got me first. I have a savings account at a credit union that my mom opened for me when I was 16. Needless to say, it's been open for a very, very long time. I opened a checking account with them in 1993 that I never used-until now.
I got a loan to pay off all my debts through them at about 1/3 the interest, and it will be paid off in 5 years. So I set about paying off all my and my husband's credit cards.
Today, Alexis from CCFCU called me just to make sure that I had authorized all the payments because some of them were in my husband's name and he isn't on the account yet. She also just wanted to make sure that the activity was mine since there was so much of it. I told her it was, and everything was posted.
I still can't believe that kind of service. Obviously, they want to make sure they don't pay something that's not authorized, but to actually make a phone call and verify it, something that weak excuse of a bank called Wells Fargo never did, was beyond the level of service I expected. Maybe I'm just used to being treated like garbage. I'm still gun-shy, and I'm not ready to give myself heart, soul and checkbook, but I must say I'm impressed. Thanks, CCFCU!!
