Whirlpool refrigerator leaking
cost of repair for a design defect - Complaint
Today I had to pay $211 for a service repair to a Whirlpool refrigerator that was leaking from the freezer down into the refrigerated section. The repairman said this is a common repair due to the water in the drain freezing before it can drip down to the pan. He installed a small metal piece into the drain that will conduct heat and extend the heat so that the water will not freeze and overflow into the refrigerated section below.
i have now been on the internet and found many other Whirlpool refrigerator owners who have had the exact same issue. If Whirlpool knows this is a defective design, why haven't they alerted all their customers and been proactive? Why do I have to pay for Whirlpool's mistake?
