HughesNet Complaint - Very Unhappy with HughesNet
After five years of them charging me every month the service has just gotten worse and worse. Only time it really worked was between midnight and 5AM. Forget getting any service during prime time. Do you think they oversold the bandwidth? Anyone happy with their service.
I finally called to get them to come fix my internet system and a very helpful technician remotely tested my system and said it was bad but that they could not fix it since I needed an upgrade. So she connected me with the upgrade department. The upgrade department said I have to spend $250 for new hardware and then I will again have a two-year commitment. And I said that I already paid something like $300 for their system and if what I had is bad then they should just put my initial pay towards the new equipment. Also, that their stuff is bad is not my fault so why do I have to pay.
So I said "OK, what if I pay the money and you put in the new hardware and it still doesn't work and so then I will have two more years of service that doesn't work better than dial up. And if you put in the new stuff and it doesn't work and I say give me my money back and take your faulty stuff back then what then? The answer of course is that I would have to pay the $400 early termination fee.
Wow, do those guys ever have a racket going!! So I terminated my service and now will save my money each month. I guess I'll go with a cell internet service like the USB solutions from Verizon or I will get another satellite provider that can actually provide a working service.
