Bank of America Complaint - Short Sale Shocker
LATHROP, CALIFORNIA -- Hello,
After saving for 4 years and looking for the perfect home for 2 years we finally found it. We opened escrow on March 19, 2010. We received the short sale approval letter from B of A that was dated March 18, 2010. We had financing handled, was paying for appraisals and inspections as well the title company. All we had to do was to wait 8 more days and we would be moving into to our home. We had made the April 30 deadline for first time buyers and planned to use this money to fix the place up. Bank of America had refused our request to pay for vandalizing that had occurred repeatedly after our offer was accepted because they felt that they had taken to big of a loss on the house already.
Eight days before closing we drive past the home to find the roof had been ripped off and painters were busy inside painting away. When we asked why this was happened we were told that the new owner who had just purchased the home at an auction, had hired them to do the repairs! He purchased it at $50,000 less than our offer! Pretty good for claiming to have taken to big of a loss...
Now I ask you, what is the purpose of a contract when the bank feels that they can just breach it at any time and the aggreived party can't do anything about it! I mean you can make call after call after call and never speak to anybody with a high enough pay grade that can maybe do something. Then you have these real estate agents who just get out of school who have taken a class in short sale and think they are experts but neglect to tell you they have never handled one. I am so angry and so tired of telling this story. I was even on the channel 13 news top story, nothing! No phone calls with apologys, no we will look into this, not even the middle finger! Geez give me something! I have not even received an apology from my agent or the listing agent! They just moved on to the next sale! Zip realty has to be one of the worst agencys for selling and buying homes! Beware of this company as well.
