coffee pot broke apart in dishwasher - Complaint
Customer Service at 1800 GEVALIA is berry berry bad. I no think de agents speak umm no good inglush.
It hard to unlerstan sum thimes.
The coffee pot broke after first wash in dishwasher. I called 1800GEVALIA and was told it would be $16.00+ and another $5.00 shipping. HUH!?!
I canceled my future shipments, and my subscription with them.
What happened to a company standing behind their products?
So, now I'm off to Target for a new coffee maker.

I did not know that coffee decanturs are dishwasher safe. In the instructions that came with mine, it said to hand wash only. If this is the case, they are not required to ship a free decantur because that is deemed misuse.

Unless the item is marked 'dishwasher safe,' do not put it in the dishwasher. Simple. I hope MeJohnD's post was an attempt at humor, making fun of the Gevalia CSRs. He should be aware that Gevalia is not based in the US.

Could you buy a "universal" decanter to replace it with? I have a Gevalia coffeemaker...Melitta manufactures them. Coffee maker decanters break all the time; that's why retailers sell brand-name as well as "universal" replacements.

I found a NEW coffeemaker at Target (on clearance) complete for $10.62. That's more than 50% less than Gevalia wanted just for the pot!
I still think in good faith and customer loyalty Gevalia should have replaced the pot.
