DirecTV Inc Complaint - THIEVES: updated again!
I had DirectTV at one time and had no compliants. Had their service for over two years. Since they couldn't offer internet I went to a local Cable company. Two years later when moving out of state I looked to them first for TV service. I decided to use them again. What a mistake! First off, after my service was hooked up I didn't have local channels. You know, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. So when I called them I asked WTF? They said it wasn't offered in my area and I could ask for a waiver from those networks. Talked to my new neighbor who has DirectTV. He said they offered him the waiver option and he took it. Only to pay $45 for the waiver then denied! So WITHIN 24 hours I canceled my service which there wasn't suppose to be an early termination fee. WOW, was I surprised when they charged me almost $500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They reinbursed me for that, but they still owe me over $200 in over draft charges which they said they'll pay. Now a month later, they are chargeing me another $400 for not returning their equipment. Well, how can I when they never sent me a return box? They said Fedex put it in my garage, well I keep my garage LOCKED unless I'M WORKING IN IT!!!!!!!!!! So they said they'll send me another box. This was last week. Should of been here yesterday! Well, now when I called them today, "I'll do you a favor and send you one more recovery box." What a joke. Lawyer just called and wants to see all my overdrafts fees and stuff. We'll see how they react when a lawyer is involved!
Lawyer has contacted them several times with no luck. I had recived calls from the Office of the President, Billing Account Mezimine devision, yeah I know my spelling sucks, and others. Haven't seen a penny for any of my overdraft fees, or the money it took me to send the recivers back via USPS. Each time Direct TV contacts me they leave me a new number to call, but they don't leave a pin! The phone number they leave says you need to enter a pin to get through well how can I if I don't have a pin number? Talked to my lawyer last wensday. He said try the rest of this week to get through and get your money. If no direct contact with anyone that can help, we'll file papers 3 days from now. It's funny. My overdraft fees and time I wanted reimburst totals under $500. Now with filling court papers, I'm going to tack on more hours, lawyer fees, and court fees which will probally come closer to a grand. I just wonder why not pay the $500 instead of flying a lawyer from someplace into the middle of nowhere mid-west. That right there is $500, no to mention his bill. I provided them with a running account of my bank statement that showed EVERY overdraw was from their mess up, exect for 2. Those two, if I had never recived any overdrafts, I never would of recived one, and the other would of happened no matter what. So I didn't charge them for that. After all, fair is fair. Even if it's going to take a small counrty judge to order payment from Direct TV.

Ordered service, canceled service within 24 hours. Incurred early term fee, incurred od fees, they reimbursed erary term fee, I was billed for not sending receivers back, I never received boxes to send receivers back, shipped back at own expense after asking 3 times for shipping boxes. Place on hold for +40 minutes waiting for supervisor, Office of president calls me and leaves me a number to call back but I need a pin to call and he didn't leave a new pin to call back. Talked to lawyer cuz I have short temper, would rather have him deal with them. They will not talk to him. About ready to take to court for OD fees, 4 hours of my time wasted, and shipping fees. I sent them a 3 month copy of my bank statement with all my od fees on it. Said payment within 7-10 days. It's been 12 business days since I received last call after they received papers.
Charged me early termination fees when I didn't deserve them. Incurred hundereds in overdraft fees.
I was told that my overdraft fees would be reimbursed by an employee of direct TV. I want my od fees, shipping fees to send boxes back, and personal time paid.

We apologize for any hardship you may have encountered. Our records indicate you spoke with our office on July 17, 2010 in regard to any possible reimbursement. We have explained that no reimbursement will be provided for late fees incurred by Verizon or hourly wages. However, we may be able to provide reimbursement for the overdraft fees incurred by your financial institution. We received a fax from you; however important information was blacked out. We have requested that you re-fax a bank statement with a running balance. This bank statement must also reflect the account number with your name and address. We have yet to receive this fax. If you would like to fax this information to our office for review, you may fax it to 1-208-363-6444 Attn: Erin. Once the documents are received and if reimbursement is available, it will be issued to your card within 8 business days. Sincerely, DIRECTV Office of the President

Law attorney, bank representives, say that's too much info for you to have. If you have worries about it not being correct account, look at the statement. It shows withdrawls and deposits made by Direct tv. It will match your own records. And you want another copy of my records that will cost me more money. I was specificly told by your office you wouldn't pay for that extra money. So why waste more of my money to show your mistakes? Plain and simple. My bank was nice enough to reimburse me for the copy you already have that shows each withdrawl and overdraft! So in return you weren't charged for that copy. It's been almost 4 months, you got the proof, use it!

We understand your concern; however, our Finance Department requires the information we have requested in order to investigate your claim. If you are unwilling to provide the information to us, we are unable to investigate your claim any further. Respectfully, DIRECTV Office of the President
