Mapquest Complaint - Incorrect Directions

Review by kuddles on 2010-05-19
For my cousin's graduation on May 15, 2010, my family and I went to Chicago. We lodged at the Best Western in Evanstan, ILL. I googled the directions from mapquest to the actual ceromony which was to be held at the Gentile Center on the campus of the university. The directions led us to take a wrong turn on Howard St. The directions led us to turn left when in fact, we should have turned rt!!!!! We drove around for at leas an hour. had we not left early we would have missed it#@!#*&%!!!!! I am furious!!!! people trust these directions you know. If we had not had the navigation system in my nepphews telephone, we would never have found it! A word of caution, always double check or cross reference your directions with another source!

Very Ticked off and LIVID

Did you specify St, Rd, Ave, Cir, etc when typing in the directions? That can make a HUGE difference in locating where you need to go. For example, here in Phoenix, 40th St is not the same as 40th Ave

Mapquest is not infallible. There's been many times I've gotten directions to a place only to find out it was completely wrong.

i think somewhere on their directions is a disclaimer that states they are not responsible for wrong directions.

I've used Mapquest before too and it is almost always accurate...but for a free service, you really can't complain. If I was paying for it, that would be another story.
