Travelocity Complaint - Cancelled Reservation not Cancelled
I made an airline reservation for my husband on Travelocity and immediatley realized that I had made it for the wrong day. I called Travelocity within 7 minutes of making the reservation to cancel. Travelocity was very helpful and assured me that since I had cancelled the same day the reservation was made, there would be no charges to my account.
That was on May 18. Now on May 20 I see both the cancelled ticket in the amount of $218.40 AND the new reservation in the amount of $198.40 have cleared my bank account ALONG WITH OVERDRAFT FEES of $175.00 !!!!!!
I called Travelocity and they verified the fact that the reservation was cancelled 7 minutes after it was made but they BLAME MY BANK for processing the charges TOO FAST !!!! Be very careful and do not use a check card when making reservations. Use a credit card instead. At least then you will be able to lodge a complaint with your credit card company.
I am still working on a resolution to this issue while I am out $175.00 in overdraft fees plus the $218.41 for the ticket I cancelled. Travelocity has told me that it could take up to 30 days for my refund to clear the bank.
