Travelocity Complaint - Stuck in Florida
I recently booked a family vacation to disney in Orlando through Travelocity. It was my first and last time using them. I should have known there would be trouble when I tried to use their "price guarantee." Since I booked well in advance I was able to spot offers that were less and I submitted them. I finally got an answer after the 4th request. They only match the exact package purchased. Since I added park tickets to the package it wasn't the same. Lesson learned don't add any extras if you want to use the price guarantee.
When it was time to return home we couldn't print out our boarding passes. When I contacted Travelocity customer service the representative told me our flight had been canceled but everything was still the same and to go to the airport and get them there. Not true there were no flight ava. for 3 days! That was the first of many lies told to me by customer service reps. Long story short, I tried to use my trip insurance for the extra expenses. What a nightmare that was. They gave me outdated info about who to file the claim with, made me jump through lots of hoops, and in the end the airline called and offered to pay the extra costs incurred. What about the Insurance? If all it means is they pass the buck to the carrier then something is not right. I'm sure I could have called the carrier and got the same result with one call and a lot less hassle. The only thing Traveocity got right is the hat their mascot wears. All customer service reps should wear one because they are dunces and that's my 3 cents.
