Sleepy's Mattress Complaint - Very unhappy customer

Review by Beth on the Seacoast on 2010-05-21
BURLINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- I had the worst experience with Sleepy's a couple of years ago in Burlington, MA. I didn't realize (since I always had a water bed) that they could be like the worst of used car salesmen. I ordered and charged a queen size mattress and wanted to have delviery delayed so I'd have time to empty my water bed. Well the sales manager called with an incentivce of free delivery (*I think it would sdave me $60) if I took delivery early. I said I would and then it took months of tracking him down to prove I wasn't supposed to be charged delivery. Well I didn't get anyone to help with my water bed and then discovered the mattress completely sealed in plastic in the corner of my room--never opened or touched--was a full size instead of queen. It took months of calls and letters and they turned it around on me that I took delivery and didn't realize it was the wrong size. (Like I'm going to measure it to be sure I got the queen.) I wrote and called the company to no avail. They refer to themselves as "The mattress professionals" and the "most trusted name" in mattresses. I don't think so. This is the worst purchase I ever made and they didn't care to help until I researched the owners and wrote to NY and then someone called. One solution was I sell it and they'll send me another one for employee's cost. I would NEVER recommend anyone shop there. They were very sleazy.

Be sure and also drop a note to the Better Business Bureau to make this a matter of record (help for this is availible in the 'consumer tools' area of this website).
