McAfee Complaint - Download Problems for Internet Security Suite 7
I paid for and installed via the web the McAfee Internet Security Suite 7. I ran into installation problems and finally had to contact their customer service via the free internet chat. They gave me instructions on how to correct the problem. That didnt work so they told me to uninstall the product. I follow all of their instructions such as clearing the cache and history/deleting files/doing a scan disk/doing a defragmention. I also made sure nothing was running in the background when I tried to reinstalled. Nothing worked when I tried to reinstall. I was sent back and forth between customer service and tech support which obviously do not have the same data information on my account. Tech support would say that I was not setup for repeated installments of the product and that I was only given one chance. Customer Service said that I was signed up for multiple downloads. Yet the download link was not available to me at the site they kept sending me too. Everytime I tried to download they said I had to pay for the product and they would only give me a trial offer for 15 days. Finally I was given the number for Customer Service to contact which incidentally is not available during the weekends. I quite by accident found the email that McAfee sent me giving me my order number. Voila' there was a link to reinstall for FREE! UGH....finally after 5 days of pure hell I was able to reload the product for free...but not from any help from their Technical staff. I am also quite upset about the misleading ad for their rebate. Although I had removed Norton from my PC, I could not get the $20 rebate unless I could prove that I had Norton to begin with. I would have to show proof of the web download for over a year ago I did for Norton. So for a warning....keep a copy of your receipt for all computer downloads you have done.
