Wal-Mart Complaint - Poor customer service, possible fraud at Wal-Mart
WAKE FOREST, NORTH CAROLINA -- I received a coupon for a free 16 ounce Greek yogurt from Stonyfield. The item costs $3.98. I also purchased a 32 ounce plain yogurt at the same time. This item costs $3.24. I handed the cashier the coupon and we found the item on the receipt. She then wrote $3.98 on the coupon and scanned it. The computer automatically discounted my bill by $3.24 (the price of the cheaper item). I pointed this out and she asked me to take it to customer service (which I did). The customer service representative and a manager both told me that when I purchase another item made by the same manufacturer, the cost of the cheaper item is automatically taken off by the computer. I pointed out that the coupon was for $3.98, and Wal-Mart stated that there was nothing they could do about it. I said that I have not had this problem at other grocery stores, and was told that Wal-Mart is not a grocery store (although they sell groceries at this supercenter). I asked if when they sent the coupon for redemption at Stonyfield if they would receive $3.98, and they stated they would only receive $3.24. If they receive $3.98, this is FRAUD. I contacted Stonyfield and filed a complaint against the store, and certainly will not ever go back. I spend over $400/month at that store and have for many years. They have lost my business over 74 cents.
