Red Roof Inn Mobile,AL. Complaint - Disabled Veteran Harassed!!!
MOBILE, ALABAMA -- I was given a handicapped room at check in after telling the front desk clerk of my status as a disabled veteran. NOTHING was said about any restrictions, fines or requirements, nor was anything said by ANY OTHER OF THE STAFF( House keepers, security guard maintenance man)
I awoke the next morning by housekeepers laughing about the ticket that was on my windshield for 130.00.
The general manager was contacted and left a message on my voice mail after ducking my calls" This problem with handicapped parking has been going on for a while." WHY DID NO ONE SAY ANYTHING AND WHY ARE THERE NO PLACARDS POSTED WARNING OF THE FINE????
Below is the lame response that I received from her and my response to her-
Apparently there are long standing issues at this location in addition to the parking-
1) Conduct of your security guard- The night prior to my departure I was awoken out of a sound sleep by loud converstation that could be heard over the running AC Unit. I turned the AC off and listened to what was being said-Words to the effect of ' That ### better have her ### out by 10 in the morning' Where did she get the money? She is too ugly to be prostituting. I thought that I recognized the voice of the security guard and thought " This can't be-He is on duty making rounds( Or is supposed to be.) I got up and got dressed and walked around both my building and the one in back-The security guard was no where ot be found. It is most likely that he was the source of the comments being made.
Someone at the property contacted the police and had them ticket me-I do not buy the message left by you on my voice mail-If this issue had been going on for so long YOU as general manager DROPPED THE BALL. There should be signed posted along with the handicapped signs warning of the fine.-YOU HAVE NOT DONE THIS. Before ANYONE is assigned to a handicapped room they should be told BY THE FRONT DESK CLERKI was in the room a full day without ANY STAFF including THE SECURITY GUARD saying a word.
I am a disabled veteran and am entitled to handicapped parking-In addition I am unemployed and homeless right now-As If this was not bad enough I had to listen to snide comments from YOUR STAFF about how If I did not pay I was going to Jail. The 130.00 Ticket will get paid-It just means that maybe I will have to sleep in my truck or forgo a meal. THANKS FOR SUPPORTING VETERANS!!!
It is quite obvious from your canned politically correct email sent AND the fact that you ducked my phone calls TODAY that you really DO NOT GIVE A DAMN. Cut the pc BS and give some real answers about the problems that you have at your hotel
As a general manager it is beginning to appear THAT YOU S###.You cannot manage your personel OR your property. Please do not think that just because I am gone that the issue( s) have gone away-I suggest that YOU GET YOUR ### IN GEAR AND START DOING YOUR JOB of managing that fleabag hotel that you are supposed to be running.
