Travelocity Complaint - Terrible Customer Service and Terrible Hotel Rating System
I made a reservation for what I thought was a 3 star hotel using Travelocity's top secret hotel feature. What I got was a 1 star hotel and the inablity to cancel my reservation. I called Travelocity and was connected to someone overseas whom I could barely understand. Was placed on hold for almost 15 minutes with hopes of me hanging up when I asked to speak to a superior. The "superior" got on the phone only to tell me that the hotel claims it is a 3 star hotel and therefore they believe it to be a 3 star hotel. This hotel had dated furniture and a sunken in mattress harder than the floor I walked on. When I walked into the room it had a nasty musty/moldy odor. The only thing new in this so called renovated room was the air conditioner unit. I went on other hotel booking sites to compare the star rating for the hotel and saw that all but 1 gave it a 2 star rating, the other gave it a 1 star rating. But...Travelocity gives it 3 stars? Am I to believe their star quality is beneath that of other comparable booking sites? When I made that point to the customer service representative and superior, I was told that they're not interested in what other hotel booking sites think because Travelocity has the most updated information about their hotels. I then asked why even offer price matching if you all don't compare yourselves to other booking sites. He couldn't give me an answer. Finally frustrated and unable to do anything about my booking because it was non refundable, non changable and nontransferable. I decided to suck it up, purchase some air freshener and disinfectant spray and pray to God I wouldn't be killed at the 1 star hotel Travelocity is deceiving people into believe is a 3 star quality hotel. I will never, I repeat NEVER use Travelocity again!!!
