Georgiahotels.com Complaint - Taken advantage of - Reservation
NORWALK, CONNECTICUT -- I googled Holiday Inn Express Milledgeville GA and thought I was getting the actual web site for this location. Georgiahotels.com is what appeared and offered lowest pricing for booking a reservation. I was under the impression that this was a third party with a contractual agreement between Georgiahotels.com and Holiday Inn Express, therefore thinking any cost for booking the reservation would be between the hotel and Georgiahotels.com. not the consumer. I knew by booking through them it was prepay and penalties would apply if unforeseen circumstances occurred and my trip were to be canceled. The ownership of this risk was on me. Hotels.com did not disclose I was paying them a fee or what the fee was for booking the reservation for me. Thus had this disclosure been available I would then had the option to chose if I would like to continue with their services. My cc was charged the amount quoted, but my bill from the hotel was $67.78 less. I was told that this was the commission they get. Had I contacted the hotel directly they would have given me a better price. So you tell me, how did I get the lowest price available. This is deceiving the consumer and I will never use their services again. It was explained to me that it is best to contact the Hotel, not the 800 number and negotiate with them directly. Lesson learned $67.78 later. Consumers beware of all third party booking services. Georgiahotels.com is affiliated with Priceline.com.
