Time Warner Informative - They provide nothing to write home about
MCKINNEY, TEXAS -- We switched from Dish to TW due to what we thought would be a cost savings. At the end of the day and after all the extra fees you really don't save anything at all, especially the headache. Yes, satellite is affected by weather, but Time Warner is affected by even more. Service was in-and-out for no apparent reason, and when it was out at my house it was out all over the neighborhood. Of course, you can't call them to report it because the phone line is with TW and is also out. In my 14 months of service this occurred at least once every other month and the outage would last for several hours and often into the next day. Just be careful when you sign a contract. We had a 'price-lock' guarantee, which meant we agreed to have them service us for a full two years for a minimal savings. Fourteen months later we moved into a neighborhood where TW Cable was not available. Nonetheless, we were made to pay the $90 early termination fee. I'm sure it was in a contract that we signed, so I can't complain about that....but at the end of the day it tells me the they are not willing to work with me even after my patience with their mediocre service. After having both Dish and TW Cable, there is no comparison. I will not use TW cable again, regardless if their service becomes available in our new neighborhood.
