Wal-Mart Complaint - Order cancellation
I ordered a TV table online last night at approximately 8:30 PM. Twenty minutes later I decided to cancel it and order a different, more expensive, stand. When I went to my account, there was no "cancel button" I called customer service and was told they would try and cancel the order and then send a confirmation email.
The following day, at around 12:30 PM, the order was not cancelled and I called customer service again. I was then informed that the order was already processed and could not be cancelled. I would have to either refuse delivery or return the stand to a local Wal-Mart for a refund.
Who are they kidding? I ordered this on a Friday night, the beginning of the Memorial Day weekend. I then attempted to cancel a mere 20 minutes later. How could my order be too far along? Totally ridiculous.
Wal-Mart would rather pay for shipping to Austin, inconvenience their customer and then pay for shipping back to them instead of pressing a few computer buttons and cancel the order.
What a poor, poor way to do business. Not only is Wal-Mart incurring unnecessary expenses, it is alienating their customer and everybody I know. Sam Walton must be spinning in his grave.
