Ashley Furniture Complaint - Lies, and Late!
COLUMBUS -- My wife and I ordered a bedroom set for our house just after moving to Georgia from Germany. We were sleeping on a air mattress for a week and went to the store and thought it was time to buy. We purchased it on April 2, 2010 being promised it would be delivered on may 21. almost 2 months later! On May 20th I received a call from a representative saying the furniture was damaged and it had to be sent back for new furniture. and the new delivery date was now June 10. I complained saying we have been sleeping on an air mattress for almost 2 months and demand compensation. she contacted the delivery department showing no one marked the furniture as "damaged" in the computer. so she called the two different delivery stores and no one there had any note of calling us or knowing the furniture was damaged. I showed the manager the number on my cell phone who called me and she noticed it was from her store. She asked all of her employees and all of them said they have not made the call to me and I was not on the call list; but she saw the delivery change in the computer to 3 weeks later of the original date. she compensated me with a $50 gift card...come on what can $50 buy at this store? toilet paper in the bathroom? I don't think so. She did a split delivery of the bed and the rest of the set with the bed being delivered on the 29th of May and the rest on June 10. The bed was supposed to be here between 3 and 6PM. Waited till 615 and eventually got a call saying they were late. DONT EVER BUY FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE! POOR SERVICE
