Tropical Chevrolet Complaint - They Schedule Appointments You Never Asked For

Review by UnhappywTropicalChev on 2010-06-03
MIAMI SHORES, FLORIDA -- Several months ago I went to Tropical Chevrolet to ask about replacing a door handle on my Chevy Cobalt. They quoted me over $200 to replace it. I found the part online and had it replaced myself for under $50.

Today I received a voice mail and an email reminding me of an appointment for June 8 THAT I NEVER MADE. They are using my personal information to create appointments that I must call them to cancel. They are using my personal data to coerce me into making contact with them. They then tell me that "the computer does it automatically and we can't do anything about it"

So don't show up. I don't think this is as big of a deal as you are making it out to be. Obviously you gave them your information, and they may have just assumed you were getting the work done there and set the appointment. I really doubt there is any nefarious scheme going on.
