Cox Communications Inc Complaint - Billing us for services provided AFTER we cancelled our service with Cox
PHOENIX, ARIZONA -- In February of 2005 we moved into our new home and contacted Cox Communications to set up phone service and internet service. We also contact DirecTV to move our satellite from our prior residence to our current residence. We have been with DirecTV for about 17 years. Our internet service with Cox was spotty and not very good so we began shopping and decided to set up with Qwest. We elected to bundle our phone, internet and DirecTV together for the discount and the ease of making 1 payment.
Despite both myself and Qwest contacting Cox to terminate service, they continued to bill us for internet as well as cable service which we had never even requested.
They have sent the bill to collections. We forwarded documentation to that service showing when our service began with Qwest. They in turn contacted Cox. In less than 24 hours Cox advised the service that they were not cancelling the billing. The credit company offered to set us up for payments of the past due amounts when we had contact Cox to cancel our service.
This has been a total nightmare and I would NEVER recommend Cox to anyone. The quality of the service provided, as well as the customer service provided is the worst I have ever come across. And that is after having spent 19 years in customer service.
