Circuit City Complaint - Service problems
I have a 43 inch Hitachi TV that I purchased from Circuit City along with a 3 yr service contract.
I have since renewed that contract as a result of a repair call that I had with them.
The convergence chips went out on my set on 10-27-2003 and was repaired. The repairman indicated that thhis was a real problem with this set and queried about how much coverage I had. I explained that I had just sent in my renewal for an aditional 2 years.
He replace the chips in my set on 10-31-2003. I called service again on 11-24-04 with the same problem and again it was serviced with replacement chips. The technician indicated that he encountered a problem with circuit board traces seperating from the board as he soldered in the new chip set but that this would not have any effect on the repair. On 12-06-2004 I called service again with the same problem. Again the technician came out and this time indicated that he would have to order a replacement board.
I have been on the phone to Circuit City for many days trying to get some acton with this problem. This is the third time that the convergence chips have failed.
Just yesterday after an e-mail to CC a lady by the neame of Jennifer called and at the end of our conversation indicated that she was entering an authorization for a replacement unit as this was the third failure. Later yesterday anaother CC representative called to ask if I had been notiified of the replacement authorization. I indicated that Ii ahd and thanked her for the call. Both indicated that I shgould visit the local store to arrange the replacement.
I did that this morning only to be told that there was not indication in thier computer under the recent claim number to authorize the replacement.
Circuit City is not good to its word and those representatives that tell you that they willcall you back do not.
Totally upset with CC and its lack of service.
