Hampton Inn & Suites Complaint - Hotel Security
PINE BLUFF, ARKANSAS -- I was staying at the Hampton Inn in Pine Bluff, AR during the first week of November 2004. During my stay on the first night, Sunday, my co-workers truck was broken into and items were stolen. For the next two nights we parked our trucks next to the entrance just to be safe. Low and behold, Wednesday night they pry up my cover over the back and steal around $5000 worth of tools. When the police arrive the next morning, it ends up that 7 trucks had been broken into. All the while there is an off duty officer in charge of security at the hotel. From the policeman we find out that theft is a big problem in this town. The hotels average at least 3 break ins a week. Yes, that many. When I ask the manager why they do not have cameras out in the parking lot, she says she does not want to scare the quest into thinking this is not a safe place. Duh. The best part of the story is it two 3 weeks just to get a copy of the police report for my insurance company. Plus I had to pay $8.00 for the 1 page form.
