Blue Cross / Blue Shield Complaint - Blue Shield Customer Service Awful
Been with Blue Shield for over 10 years. Whenever I call in to make a payment they always post it the next day...happy to get my money. So recently, I did not receive a bill for whatever reason. But I did get a cancellation notice. I had just sent in a payment so I thought we had crossed in the mail. Turns out they canceled my coverage. Okay. It was all a mis-communication which I started out by being patient about. So I called them to make the payment and they took the $. A week later my coverage was still not reinstated and whenever I called them I seemed to get representatives from India who gave me attitude because I was frustrated that I still had not been reinstated. I am a type one diabetic and they keep telling me everything is fine, but my pharmacy can't fill my medications because their system is still saying I am not covered. I have not taken my thyroid medication for three days, I am now sick with a terrible cough and cold, I had to miss work, and am now down to the last units of insulin and can't afford to pay out of pocket for the 7 refills I need now. Beware of these un-compassionate crooks. Our company had HealthNet for two years. If a payment was late (which started happening during the recession) they didn't cancel the policy. Thank you Mr. Obama for passing a health care bill that will allow me to change coverage and therefore have the health care industry join the democratic ways of having a choice rather than being stuck with the same coverage for life.....which is true socialism / corporate communism. Goodbye Blue Shield. You have gone way downhill.
