Jennifer Convertibles Inc Complaint - Everyone - Save Yourself Time, Money and Aggravation: Don't Buy Anything from Jennifer Convertibles
WEST ROXBURY, MASSACHUSETTS -- I bought a black leather Lorenzo sofa. The moment it was delivered the leather sagged in a lot of areas so I requested an in home inspection by a Jennifer Customer Service Rep Teresa Dilone. I finally received a letter saying this was normal and "up to manufacturer standards, not requiring repair or replacement." 3 months later a spring was poking through the furniture which they did send a repair tech to fix - taking 4 months from time of complaint about that to the time it was fixed. Each time I called or sent emails to Jennifer after that, I'd get an email response "Thank you for contacting Jennifer Convertibles, someone will get back to you"(and they never did) or verbal responses that there is nothing that can be done: the leather sofa line (Lorenzo)is no longer carried and it 'really isn't a high quality line, sorry there is nothing we can do to help you.' This furniture, being mostly to 'look at' and not used everyday is garbage. The places where I complained about the leather sagging, started to peel off. After many calls to the store where I bought it (West Roxbury Massachusetts), emailed complaints to the Corporate offices in Woodbury NY, and then filing a complaint with the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office - the bottom line is Jennifer management told the AGs office that this furniture's life expectancy was at most 4 to 5 five years, it's really not meant to last, and there was nothing they could or would do. The manager of the West Roxbury MA store Mark Heller actually told me, "This is inexpensive furniture, this is Jennifer's market segment. The furniture is not meant to last a lifetime - 4 to 5 years tops. It's for people who replace their furniture every couple of years." It's a line of crap. I explained that I've had problems, documented problems with the furniture since day one and all he kept saying was 'Sorry, there's nothing we can or will do." The leather on this furniture is definitely defective - no doubt about it. I've since told this story to folks at other respectable furniture stores (and friends who have sold quality furniture) and without reservation they state that all of Jennifer's products are garbage. So, save yourself your hard earned money, your valuable time, and the aggravation and don't step foot into a Jennifer store. Their products are garbage as are their employees. If you are stuck with their trash, the best thing to do is file a complaint with your local Better Business Bureau, your Attorney General's Office, and post your horror stories on the web for all to see. Call your local news stations and explain your plight to them; perhaps they will do an expose on Jennifer Convertibles. Why should we all suffer for their selling us garbage and not stand up for ourselves?? Jennifer needs to be out of business. Period.
