United Airlines Complaint - Lack of Service
WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA -- My boyfriend and I were on a flight to Vegas on 8/31, which had a stop over at Washington Dulles Airport. Our departing flight to Vegas became delayed due to a 'mechanical' problem.
This was supposed to be fixed within 20 minutes. This delay ended up to be 4 hours. During this time, the fan was brought in only twice, and we ( the economy class ) was not even offered any beverages even though the first class was offered drinks. We had to leave the plane and purchase our own water to keep ourselves cooled down. By the time we landed in Vegas, got a taxi, and checked into our hotel, it was close to midnight.
We ended up wasting a vacation day from work, lost a good 1/2 day of sightseeing in Vegas, and booked an extra hotel night which we didn't need since we arrived the next day.
My family and my boyfriend fly United quite frequently and the last type of service we expected is segregation between flying class. I can not believe that we were not even offered water during the delay. Where was the compassion or the gratefulness from UA that the passengers didn't rebook on a different airline?
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
