Best Buy Complaint - Poor Customer Service Salesman
DULUTH, GEORGIA -- On Memorial Day, I went into Best Buy and bought an Inspiron 560 desktop. When I unpacked it at home and set it up, I found that I couldn't get onto the internet. Now, I haven't bought a computer in about 10 years, so I wasn't aware that modems weren't standard inside computers anymore. I tried to get DSL service since thats the only thing that will work on this Dell, and its too damn expensive.
So, I took the thing back, and as I am standing looking at another computer, this salesman not far away mumbles, and I am not sure if he is even talking to me. I look up and he asks about the computer I am looking at. I start telling him about my problem and this idiot can't even look me in the eye. Obviously, another salesman who won't listen. I wanted to rip into this guy, but I was cool. Instantly, he started trying to sell me something else. The day before, I had come in, and seen this same salesman walking around. This guy is pathetic, like he only wants to help certain people. A Geek Squad guy tried to sell me a USB Modem doohickee for 50 bucks and I said no. I wasn't spending another dime. Well, this guy who can't look me in the eye starts scanning the shelves to sell me something else, then I tell him that I don't want the computer, I just want my refund, and to be done with BEST BUY FOREVER! He goes to another salesman, and they keep repeating themselves wanting to sell me DSL and the computer. I am a stubborn person. Finally, they give up and I get my money back. They were going to charge me a 15% restocking fee, but I raised hell and they relented. DO NOT EVER GO TO BEST BUY!
