LG Complaint - LG ice make issues - LG Ref/freezer Model LRSC26923TT
Refrigerator is about 2.5 years old. Ice maker worked correctly for the 1st year of ownership. Then ice bin began to overfill with ice and excess water (which froze in to blocks of ice). Unfortuantely the auger assembly broke away from the storage bin. I owned a commercial ice maker repair company for 20 years so I took a look at the ice maker. The spring which is supposed to be attached to the ice sensor arm had come off so I reinstalled it and returned the unit to service (along with a new ice storage bin). It functioned for several months. Now the storage bin in again filling with water. I finally ascertained the reason behind the latest issue. The twist release ice cube tray is now occasionally hanging up half way through its cycle. Evidently an ice cube will occasionnly block the cube tray from returning to its normal resting horizonal position and the water will overflow the lower side of the tray and freeze on the bottom.
How may others have had this issue?
Considering the problems I've had with this refrigerator which now requires an ice maker and ice bin and the uncertanty of the reliability of the system I will probably buy another brand for the replacement refrigerator.
