Suzuki Cars of McKinney Complaint - Liars and Cheats, avoid them!

Review by funnygirlindallas on 2010-06-09
MCKINNEY, TEXAS -- I sadly purchased a vehicle from this place in March 2010. My friend recommended them, but neither of us were aware that they have an "F" rating with the BBB and that their accredidation was taken away from them for deceptive business practices. Had we known that, we would have avoided this place.

I bought a used vehicle, a 2004 Honda Element. They pressured me into it, and lied to me about the condition of the vehicle. The day I bought it, it was snowing and about 20 degrees outside. Test drive indicated that everything seemed to be working, including the heater. Two weeks after I bought it, I noticed that the AC didn't blow cold air. I went back to the dealership and was told by the sales manager that they were waiting for the 'warranty paperwork' to come in, which seemed odd to me because it was a used car without a warranty. I hoped that they would fix the problem as a good-faith gesture. I called several times over the next few weeks and they kept telling me the same story. After a while, they just stopped returning my calls. I took the vehicle to a mechanic near my house and was told that it needs a new compressor, which is an $800.00 repair. I finally filed a complaint with the BBB, and their response was that I didn't purchase an extended warranty, so I was not entitled to this repair.

These people are liars and cheats. I hope they go out of business. I'm taking my complaint to the Texas Attorney General and local news stations.

Did they let you test the car before you purchased it?

MDS good question. Regardless of the temp outside, make sure you test the heat and the ac.

Also, had I read this article prior to going there, I never would have bought from them:

Yes, I test drove the car. Everything seemed to be working fine the day I bought it. The AC seemed to be blowing cold, but that could have been because it was freezing outside. There were a couple of minor things they promised to fix also, but refused to do it when I came back the following week (i.e. the inside trim on one of the doors needed to be tacked down, and the hood latch needed to be replaced/repaired.) The told me they would take care of anything that was wrong if I came back when the service department was open. They lied and refused. They would have promised me anything to get me to buy that car. They promised my friend a referral fee of $350.00 as well for bringing me in. They won't honor that either.
