KitchenAid Complaint - The dishwasher that does not work
SAN JOSE, CA. -- My husband bought a kitchen aid dishwasher. It is stainless steel. Western Appliance was selling it for $1600 with a $600 discount which was a gimmick since no one else seems to sell it for $1600. After he brought it home we found out that the heat/dry did not work. Also there is no fan so that definitely affects how dry the dishes get. We were told that it would take 10 days to get a new control panel. Since the control panel never worked to begin with we felt we should be given another new machine. After all we had it here for only 10 days and it had never worked properly. Western appliance refused. They said that
Kitchen Aid will repair products that they make that do not work but they will not replace a new defective product with with another new one that works. ( apparently its the customer's tough luck if the machine they are sold happens to be defective.) When I called Kitchen Aid they told me the same thing. They told me that they would try to expidite the situation with the control panel but it was not their policy to replace the machine and they would not do so. I will never buy one of their products again. I will also never shop at Western Appliance again. On the sales persons business card it says "You can't beat a Western Deal." Some deal.
