Burger King Complaint - Rude Employee
NEVADA -- I know. It's hard to believe a rude employee at a fast food place, isn't it? I know we have all had similiar bad customer service experiences at fast food places and in a way, mine is really no different. I'm just tired of it.
I pulled up to the drive-thru--there was no one else in line-and I placed my order. The response: "$2.13". No 'please pull fwd' or anything like that. OK, no biggie--I dont have to be told to pull fwd. As I make a left turn and approach the window, I see an oustreteched arm with a hand up, waiting for money like a homeless person looking for a handout. I didnt know if I was at Burger King or in Tijuana! As I pulled up, the girl said nothing--she did not repeat the dollar amount. She just stood there like she was begging for money. I handed her a $5. She did not confirm it and say 'Out of five?'. She just took/grabbed the money from my hand. She gave me change back--didnt say a word! Not "$2.87 is your change". Nothing. She just handed me my change. In a flash, she then practically tossed my food at me. I didnt even have a chance to drop my change into my shirt pocket. She sighed cause apparently I wasnt taking the food quick enough. I took the food from her--Again, not a word! Not a Thank You. Not Have a nice day. NOTHING!
Then, the irony is this: I looked at her, hoping for her to at least say 'thank you'. She said nothing--instead she just stared at me and rolled her eyes at me cause I didnt thank HER!
Now, I understand these are kids--15, 16, 17 years old. I understand they get paid minimum wage and I understand it's a thankless job. I'm not expecting to make a lifelong friend or get in a lengthy discussion about the War in Iraq or 'The Apprentice'. However, is it too much to ask for a simple 'thanks' or 'have a nice day'?
The girl being rude was one thing--but it was made worse by the fact that she was upset with me for not thanking her!!!
