Superstores Informative - Ouch - Used car sales

Review by Mike2000 on 2010-06-11
FORT WAYNE, INDIANA -- I called ahead and drove 3 hours to look at a rare vehicle on their lot. Upon arrival, I talked to a young salesman who was very polite and attentive. We made small talk and he asked me if I could drive stick and would like to test drive. I said I drove one here, and we walked into the business to get the keys. The older salesman (his father) stopped us and told me the car was sold. I said "Well, that's too bad" and began walking away. He stopped me at the door and said, "well, how's your credit score, I mean, do you even have a job?" Now, I know I look young for my age, and maybe to this guy I looked like some dumb young kid, except I was wearing dress pants and shirt and make more a month than any of these "salesmen". Upon leaving, I talked with a person who recently bought a vehicle from this place and the engine had seized-up. A very offensive and rude owner. His son is very nice. Go somewhere else...

I'm really curious, what was this rare vehicle? As for the way they spoke to you, not cool, they were being judgemental, but you are also judging them by posting that you make more than they do in a month. How do you know that?

good points for both sides.

no matter what someone's job is, unless they're into organized crime etc, it's an honest job and deserves respect. Both for the customer and the employee.

Thanks Peps! I hope the op comes back, because I really would love to know what this rare vehicle was. He drove 3 hours for it, only to find out that it had been sold, which stinks, but it happens. I love rare vehicles, as do just about all of us, so knowing what it was would be nice.
