Hotel Carter, 43rd St, NYC Complaint - Stay at your own risk

NEW YORK -- My father and I went to NYC during December 2004 and we stayed at Hotel Carter (we are from Singapore). The pictures of the room which were provided online portraited a comfortable room. However, the room turned out to be dusty, with no apparent room-service. The counter staff were horrible, they either ignore you, or they just shake their heads if you ask any questions. While we went sight-seeing, the locks in the rooms were being upgraded from the present key system to a magnetic card system. So when we returned, our beds were littered with dust from the drilling, etc. So I requested new bed sheets, which were claimed to have been delivered. The thermostat wasn't working but thankfully, the room was warm. We could've changed hotels but it was too much of a hassle. The only good thing about this place is that it's smack right in the middle of Times Sq and Port Authority. So if you are going to stay here, just don't expect service. And also expect your blood pressure to rise quickly.
