Avon Products Complaint - AVON IS A WASTE OF YOUR DIMES,NICKLES, AND QUARTERS.

Complaint
Review by DON'TBEASUCKER!! on 2010-06-12
Avon suppose to be a business for women right!!!!!! will to me their not, because they act like men!!!!! they have that look and negative attitude, will it is not Avon problem. My advise ladies!!! if you are thinking about becoming an Business woman, like I am, just go to college or go back to college and get your certificate or degree in Business Management. Because Avon is not the way out, they will SUCKER you to join their business, and it seems good at first, but miss a payment, and you will see the excitement!!! is just getting started. Avon will send you a friendly reminder letter that your account is past due, and they want your money, after you ran around in circles for their company, selling their products to your CUSTOMERS!!! Do not give Avon the upper hand, to close your account. They will resend you the last reminder letter along with Sunrise Credit Services, Inc. In my opinion Avon is a total SCAM!!!!! and a total WASTE OF ANYBODY TIME and SERVICES!!!!!!

I do think most businesses want you to pay your bills. I don't think that is out of the ordinary. You sell the product and collect the money from the customer and then send it on to Avon.

Avon never suckered me into doing anything. I order from them online often.
Posted by oldisgood on 2010-06-12:
sounds to me like someone is a little upset because Avon wants them to pay their bill. Yes, if you sell their product to someone they expect you to pay for it.
Posted by Starlord on 2010-06-12:
This reminds me of the tag line of the auto recovery firm on Operation Repo, "It ain't no joke if you don't pay that note." You agreed to certain financial terms in deciding to sell Avon, and they met their part of the deal. It is not unreasonable to expect you to do the same.
Posted by PepperElf on 2010-06-12:
Indeed. There is nothing "anti-female" about someone asking you to pay your bills.

You signed an agreement, it is not their fault if you find you cannot honor it.

Next time I suggest you try a company that doesn't make you buy the products in order to sell them. Party Lite for example.

However this bears repeating, nowhere does it say that "a company for women" means, "feel free to not pay your bills".

everyone else here, +++++ :-)

I sold Avon for many years, and NOT ONCE did I get any kind of letter from them demanding payment BECAUSE I ALWAYS PAID MY BILL ON TIME. That's how it works in the real world.
Posted by punxnotdead80 on 2010-06-13:
Since when did it become a feminine trait to not pay bills on time?
Posted by DON'TBEASUCKER!! on 2010-06-13:
But what about if you get layoff from your job? LILYDARLING!!!!! and your customers don't have the money for the product or products, for which you order for them, then YOU as a Avon Representative are RESPONSIBLE!!!! to pay!!!!! for their items for which they ordered. Because they do give you, I'll say 7 days to pay before the next campaign and IF you don't have it nor do you have enough funds in your acct. to cover your payment, Avon is not going show you any care but, giving them money, it just like the show Operation Repo. that's if you ever watched it!!!! the more payments you miss, it can be just about anything in the world the more money you own,Especially, if you can't get no help from your family members and You suppose to be an Avon Independent Representative, and I'm a single parent paying everything by myself and including when I was a Avon Independent Representative, every time when my payment was due regardless the amount and never asked anybody not even my family member to help me pay, because I ALWAYS had it AND I had 2 checking accounts. including savings SWEETHEART!! and never been married so, if you r married u can ask your husband to pay it off for you, because HE CAN NOT say NO to you, so you're OK .since, you mentioned about that you sold for Avon for many years r you still a representative or leadership?

The way I understand it to work is this: You don't give your customers their products unless they pay you. If they don't pay you, you can return the products to Avon for credit. If you decide to give your customers merchandise without being paid, who's fault is that? Avon's?

Thanks for the review, I think I may sign up to sell Avon, it sounds like a good business opportunity. I do believe I will take payment for items before delivery though.
Posted by Sheriffs Uncle on 2010-06-13:
Bingo!

Lily darling, I bet you, you won't take that risk to miss your Avon payment, because you already know if you don't pay for for amount of weeks. Avon will send you a letter including your name, address, phone, and district #. And if you don;t have the money or let's say your bank closed your checking account, cause you can't pay your debit card or credit card for the items, because you're in the deepest hole and trying to hold on to your life, Avon Will send you a second notice along with Sunrise Credit Services!!!! and THAT'S HOW SWEETHEART YOUR COOKIES WILL CRUMBLE!!!!

Legit direct-selling/multilevel marketing organizations like Avon and Amway can be great business opportunities for people willing to run a business, not for those who just think they will suddenly acquire great wealth by signing up. Most of the complaints about these kinds of businesses are from people unwilling or unable to actually attempt to run the business. For those who really attempt to work the systems properly, they can earn as little or as much as they want - but it takes a lot of hard work and a long time to make happen, just as most any business takes. There's nothing magical about it, but, as with every other business, you've got to pay your bills. Period.

Avon wants to be paid. Just like you want your customers to pay you, for the products they ordered. You would not like your customers to NOT pay you, therefore causing you the run around. Avon supplied you when you needed it, now they want to be paid. That seems fair.
Posted by Sheriffs Uncle on 2010-06-13:
Not disagreeing with you at all Linus, but I don't like to mention Avon in the same sentence with Amway. I consider Avon much more legit.
Posted by Skye on 2010-06-13:
OMG, Amway. My sister got involved with them, and it was a nightmare. She and her best friend were so young, and thought Amway would be a way to earn a decent living. WRONG. It still haunts her till this day, the mere mention or a commercial about Amway products. As for Avon, great products, and you can order them on line now, just as Dryad does.

"But what about if you get layoff from your job?"

Oh you're right... laid off means you don't have to pay bills.

Nope. If you're laid off then you job hunt. You put in apps until you can't see straight. Even for jobs you don't really want.

that's what i did. the only job i turned down was one that turned out to be "contract" work that wanted me to buy a specific phone and didn't actually guarantee me any hours.

But never did I assume that "a company for women" means "you don't have to be responsible"

I sold Avon for a long time, made a decent amount of money, always paid on time and never had a letter sent to me. As others mention, if a customer couldn't pay, then their order was returned to Avon. When I saw that my customer base was going to be decreasing significantly, I closed up shop and "retired" in good standing.

Being asked to pay your bills is anti-female? That's a new one to me!

Great comment idontthinkso! Couldn't have said it any better myself!

Oh My! How refreshing to see that there are still a few people on Planet Earth, who know the meaning of integrity. Thank you. Just a few examples of this are reflected by:
oldisgood, Starlord and other listed below.
PepperElf : Indeed. There is nothing "anti-female" about someone asking you to pay your bills.
lilydarling:NOT ONCE did I get any kind of letter from them demanding payment "BECAUSE I ALWAYS PAID MY BILL ON TIME". That's how it works in the real world.
Thank you to all of you REAL people. You have restored my faith in humanity! :)

There's nothing that makes women easier to work with than men.No difference.I don't understand the sexism here.Paying bills is the grown up thing to do and it's not a gender issue.
